As Finalists plan to resume studies in the various institutions, Mukono-based Uganda Christian University has released a fees structure.

Based on the newly released fees structure, students in their final year will be paying UGX. 2,454,000 for the entire semester while the continuing students who will be studying online will be paying over UGX. 638,000.

These fees comprise registration fees, development fees, medical fees, student activity fees, computer fees exam fees, and library fees. With these fees, online students are only exempted from paying only Medical fees something they feel is unfair.

However, Finalists think that this is exploitation. One student (name withheld) argued that he doesn’t see the purpose of paying development fees, student activity fees, computer fees, and library fees yet students are going to be off-campus.

Our sniper managed to talk to the University Guild President Mr. Kadaga Timothy about the matter and he said the Guild Government is engaging the university administration so that the rates can reduced to a reasonable figure.

We shall keep you posted about any developments in the story.
