UCU’s guild president in Shs. 30 million corruption scandal

More facts are continuing to spill as the Mukono based Uganda Christian University nears it’s Guild polls.

This comes after the current Guild President of the institution sacked the Guild Electoral Commission Chairman John Boss Bruce. As if that wasn’t enough, he suspended all the commission members and put the elections on hold.

It was only after a meeting with the institution’s Vice-Chancellor that the members of the Commission were recalled. A new chairman appointed and polls pushed to 25th.

The reason given for the sacking of the EC Chairman was that he had involved himself in misappropriation of commission funds.

However, the truth behind the allegations hasn’t been proved, and bitter secrets are now being spilled by the sacked Chairman.

News reaching our desk now indicates that the UCU Guild President Timothy Kadaga, who is also a son to the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, sidelined 9 million Uganda shillings from the money collected from the UCU Annual Run on the claims that he had invested such an amount of money into the preparation of the Run.

It’s further alleged that when asked for evidence of such investment such as receipts, he couldn’t provide any. All this comes at a time when the Kadaga got himself a new ride our sniper hasn’t figured out clearly.

As if this isn’t enough, John Bruce now says he is ready to sue Mr. Timothy Kadaga in courts of law over defamation as his name has been now labelled with a very poor image allover the UCU community.
