UCU Guild tribunal fails to rescind presidential campaigns

In a case brought against the Attorney general and the Electoral commission by a one student Mr. Oballum Altan Smith Obi represented by Mr. Bayern Turinawe.

The argument was that one of the presidential aspirants Mr. Kadaga Timothy had started campaigns before the designated time.

However, the Guild Tribunal at the Mukono based Uganda Christian University in a massively attended hearing gave a ruling that saved the whole electoral process. They gave a 3 to 2 judgement which aroused joy allover the campus. This comes after one of the judicial officers in the Guild Tribunal.

Mr. Kadaga

It should be noted that Mr. Ainebyona Ronald had issued an injunction ordering Mr. Kadaga to stop campaigning and also withdraw all his posters all-over the campus.
