UCU extends semester registration deadline

The Mukono based Uganda Christian University had earlier on declared the resumption of studies for finalists and the other continuing students who are to have their studies conducted online.

The dates released indicated that the semester was to run between 15 October to 18th December.

This was objected by some students who deemed it unrealistic based on what they have to cover and this among other queries were forward by the students in the zoom meeting that was organized by the university administrators.

With the consideration of what must be covered, the university administration came to a conclusion that the dates must be adjusted to enable the lecturers to conduct lectures in the required standard covering everything meant to be covered hence declaring 16th January as the new date for the end of the semester.

However, even after the semester having been open for a week now, no studies have commenced for the students studying online as its not even clear as to when the timetables will be out.

Its should be remembered that the university had provided a very short period for the registration procedure to enable the studying to start in time.

The deadline for registration was however extended to 30th October which is therefore believed to be the cause of the delay.

The university has further noted that students will be allowed to access online classes in regard to the percentage of tuition they have cleared.
