The East African University holds virtual 4th graduation ceremony
The East African University has this morning held a virtual 4th graduation ceremony in the wake of restrictions imposed by the nationwide coronavirus lockdown.
The virtual ceremony is similar to one recently held by Cavendish University.
The graduation ceremony is usually a large occasion, attracting multitudes of people including the graduates, university staff, friends, and family as well as media personalities that cover the event.
However, owing to the risks associated with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the institution decided that the graduation ceremony will be conducted online and not all stakeholders will be able to attend.
Around 1000 individuals are set to graduate in a ‘scientific manner’.
Deputy vice-chancellor Thomas Senaji said they adopted ICT systems that enabled efficient online learning and led to the timely and satisfactory completion of studies.
The university was founded in Uganda before it expanded into Kenya in 2005 to offer teacher training courses.
