St Augustine’s Chapel hands over CCTV footage as inquiry into Tegu’s death continues

Authorities at St. Augustine’s Chapel at Makerere University have today handed over CCTV footage to police that will be key in solving the mystery that surrounds the death of Emmanuel Tegu, a third year student at the institution who passed away on Saturday morning, close to a week after he was brutally beaten on 28th June 2020.

Despite reports from the public that Emmanuel succumbed to multiple organ failure after being beaten LDU officers, Police have stuck to the narrative that he was beaten by a mob.

The Uganda Police have revealed they have arrested 12 suspects in connection with the death of Emmanuel Tegu.

However, media was blocked from accessing and witnessing the handover of the CCTV footage, something that has raised eyebrows among sections of the public.

Police says it will brief the media after their experts handling the investigations analyse the obtained footage.
