SAD: University finalist painfully succumbs to COVID-19
The sad news emerging from Southwestern Uganda is of the passing on of a Kabale University finalist, Mr. Nduggwa Isaac who succumbed to COVID-19 in Mubende Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) on Saturday 12th December 2020.
Mr Nduggwa was pursuing a post-graduate diploma of Health Service Management.
It is reported that Mr. Nduggwa developed flu-like symptoms while in Kabale, which progressed into a terrible cough on arrival at his workplace in Mubende.
The deceased then descended into respiratory distress before he was admitted in MRRH on artificial oxygen therapy where he was later pronounced dead.
Mr. Nduggwa had been serving as a senior clinical officer at Butoloogo health centre III in Mubende district where he was the officer in charge of the health facility.
He was laid to rest on Sunday 13th December 2020 in a ‘scientific burial.’
Note that of recent, there has been a surge in COVID-19 cases being registered daily in Uganda with the country hitting the red mark of over 1000 cases reported last week in a single day.
The ministry of health has, therefore, amplified its voice in calling upon Ugandans to adhere to the standard operating procedures, for COVID-19 is real and non-selectively killing.
May his soul Rest In Peace.
