SAD! South Sudanese Medical Student Found Dead in Barifa Forest

Police in Arua is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a South Sudan national whose body was found in Barifa Forest this morning. The deceased is identified as Nazareth Kandarau, a student of Kajokeji Institute of Health Sciences in Anyafio Village.

Kandarau’s body was found inside Barifa forest after a search by the students and locals following reports of his disappearance on Tuesday.

Daniel Deng, the Guild President of Kajokeji Institute of Health Sciences told URN that the incident has left them in fear and uncertainty especially in relation to their safety.

Similarly, some of the South Sudanese Students and locals in Barifa area, who spoke to our reporter expressed fears for their lives.

However, Nesmah Ocokoru, the LC III chairperson for Arua Hill division where Barifa forest is located, has called for more security consciousness among people who move through Barifa forest.

Meanwhile, police spokesperson for West Nile Josephine Angucia said two people whose names have not been disclosed have been arrested with the help of sniffer dogs.
