Presidential candidate promises to appoint Bobi Wine as entertainment minister in his government
Presidential candidate Willy Mayambala has promised to appoint National Unity Platform flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, as head of the entertainment docket in his cabinet.
In his address to supporters at Mpigi Town Council earlier in the week, Mr Mayambala pledged to create a new ministry for entertainment within the first six months of his term as the head of state.
“I assure all my colleagues in this race that they should not worry about my presidency. I will appoint all of them and a new ministry of entertainment to be led by my brother Bobi Wine,” Mr Mayambala said.
Mr. Mayambala made the remarks during his tour of Mpigi Central Market before heading to Butambala, Gomba and Ssembabule districts.
On 24 July 2019, Kyagulanyi formally announced his bid to run for President in the 2021 general election.
On 22 July 2020, he announced that he had joined the National Unity Platform opposition political party whose spokesperson is Joel Ssenyonyi and had been elected its President and presidential flag-bearer in the upcoming January 2021 national election.
