PHOTOS: UCU holds scientific guild swearing in ceremony as new leaders swear in via Zoom

A few days after the completion of the online guild elections at the Mukono based Uganda Christian University, the institution has sworn in the newly elected leaders.

This was done in a scientific manner, as is the norm nowadays, according to the Ministry of Health guidelines COVID-19 prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The newly elected Guild President of the UCU Main Campus Agaba Kenneth Amponda, together with Desire Phoebe Namujehe of Kampala Campus was sworn in with a ceremony held at the University’s auditorium “Nkoyoyo Hall”.

The ceremony was witnessed by the university vice chancellor Ass. Prof Aaron Mushengyezi, the outgoing Guild President Mr Timothy Kadaga Kivunike among other persons.

The Guild Members of Parliament were represented by Mr Gavin Mugisha, the member of Parliament for the Faculty of Law while the rest had to attend the ceremony and also so swear in via zoom conferencing.

Further occasions will proceed after that and according to trusted sources. It is now clear that the handover ceremony will be held on Wednesday this week.
