P.7 candidate seeks support after losing both legs in a hit and run accident
Nankwanga Christine, a Primary seven candidate is seeking support from well-wishers after she lost both legs in a hit and run accident last week.
According to witnesses, she was knocked by a drunk driver as she tried to save a baby who was seated at the road side.
The driver lost control as he was fleeing from a police officer after knocking a mobile money kiosk in Kansanga.
At the time of the accident, Christine was helping her mother who is a roadside vendor.
She was able to save the 3 year old baby, whom she luckily shoved away from the accident scene, hence saving it from any harm.
This heroic act reminds us of the Late Nammaganda who died trying to save her colleagues from the Buddo Junior School dormitory fire in 2008.
Christine is now worried that since she lost both her legs and broke her right arm, her future hangs in the balance since she may not be able to sit for her Primary Leaving Examinations.
While speaking to our reporter, she revealed that she is strong and determined to pursue her dream of being a doctor in the future.
The family is pursuing a civil suit to get justice for her. They also seek medical aid on her behalf.
