NCHE clears LDC to resume online class
The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has cleared the Law Development Centre (LDC) to conduct online classes.
A few weeks ago, the LDC had ensured continuity of their classes that had been affected by COVID-19 and introduced online studies via digital platforms like Zoom.
Aa couple of months ago, parliament ordered a halt to the online classes at LDC citing the fact that some students would be left out due to lack of internet and other tools required to participate, just as was the case for Uganda Christian University.
However, the students quiclky issued a statement in which they overwhelmingly objected against the move.
Furthermore, they petitoned the Speaker Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga to intervene in their situation.
Now, in a letter dated 6th August, 2020, the NCHE has written to the administration at LDC indicating that they have approved the online classes that had earlier on been halted.
“Please arrange to immediately resume the online learning for Bar Course that had been suspended” reads the letter in part.
We shall keep you posted.
