Makerere’s Sir Edward Mutesa II Museum project receives Shs. 70m boost from Buganda Kingdom

The Katikkiro of Buganda Owekitibwa Charles Peter Mayiga has today delivered a generous contribution of UGX 70 million towards the establishment of Sir Edward Mutesa II Museum project at Makerere University.

The museum will he situated in the house where Ssekabaka Mutesa II lived as a student at Makerere from 1944 to 1946.

The purpose of establishing the museum is to preserve heritage.

The vice-chancellor of Makerere University further thanked the Katikkiro for his appeal to government to increase funding to Makerere to enable it preserve the heritage of this historic university.

The Katikkiro further pledged that the Buganda Kingdom will continue to support the university in its development efforts.
