Makerere University acting communications manager Dr. Muhammad Musoke Kiggundu says he has declined to serve another term following the expiry of his contract.

In a statement, Dr. Kiggundu said he had requested for a non-renewal of his contract to give room for others to serve.

“I did not wish to extend the contract and I asked my boss (the VC) to approve my departure and give room for others to serve in that position,” Kiggundu said.

Kigunddu, a senior lecturer in the Department of Humanities and Language and a former Makerere University Academic Staff Association -MUASA chairperson, was appointed to the acting position in January last year.
