Lawyers of the suspended lecturers of Makerere have written to the university giving an ultimatum of 30th July 2020 to pay their outstanding arrears and reinstate their clients or face lawsuits.

Court recently ordered the university to pay the suspended staff and reinstate them pending further investigations into their respective issues. This is according to the order given by the court on the 15th of July basing on the Appeal they filled to the Tribunal.

The suspended lecturers and administrators included include Dr. Stella Nyanzi the Kampala woman member of parliament hopeful, Dr. Juma Anthony Okuku, Dr. Denis Asiimwe, and thirty nine others whose contracts were terminated by the University Appointments Committee back in December 2018.
