Former Makerere University Guild President arrested

Former Makerere University guild president Roy Ssemboga and was this week arrested alongside several activists, Campus Cam has learned.

According to Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi, Roy who serves as the head of the Institutions Wing of the People Power Movement was arrested on Thursday alongside eight other youth leaders.

Through his social media handles, Hon. Kyagulanyi revealed that they were found around Mulago, in a home, having a chat and taken to the police.

Roy was later driven to the Central Police Station where he is being held.

He further revealed that the People Power leadership has visited them and the legal team is following up on their release.

Roy Ssemboga is eyeing the Kawempe South constituency Parliamentary seat in the 2021 general election and is set to stand under the People Power ticket.
