“Continuing students could return in January” – Kyambogo University VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Kyambogo University Prof. Elly Katunguka has revealed that continuing students at the institution could that are currently at home could resume in-person lectures in January if all goes according to plan.

While speaking to students via web-conferencing, he stated that the return depends on whether the finalists, who are currently back to complete their studies, can “behave themselves” and adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

“Please wear your masks at all times. No student will be allowed into the campus without a face mask. If you have flu or cough, please stay in your room. Do not come to campus,” he stated during the online communication.

Final year students at institutions across the country were recently given the green light to return to class after over a six-month absence, due to coronavirus restrictions.

Kyambogo University, in a bid to control the virus spread, has opened a COVID-19 isolation centre and barred student participation in sports competitions.
