9 suspects arrested over the death of UCU student
Police in Koboko is currently holding nine individuals as they conduct investigations into the death of Steven Muki, a student of Uganda Christian University (UCU)– Arua campus.
Steven, an office supervisor of the Koboko municipality was murdered on 2nd August as he returned home after watching a football match.
Steven was a resident of Mena village in Koboko.
Koboko District Police Commander, Samuel Abwang confirmed the arrests and said that they were still investigating the case further and searching for more suspects.
“Some people are having telephone conversations, telling the criminals to run. They will be apprehended and charged with cyber-crimes,” Abwang warned.
According to reports, the incident originated from a land dispute between the late Muki’s family and his clanmates.
The deceased acted as a middle man in resolving the dispute.
